The Others in Preston were brilliant, not a very large crowd (suprisingly actually because of the band's growing popularity, but perhaps the location of the venue was a factor) but the band were completely into it, and played a great set. Had to try stage diving 4 times before I was actually let onstage during This Is For The Poor, but the pain fcaused by evil security guards was worth it, and the whole RDD (minus Alan, and Mel who wasn't there) were on stage together eventually. All my best 853ers were present, and I got to meet some people from the forum, all of which said they knew me but I didn't know them! Aftershow was great, thanks to Sara and Emma. Dominic kept thanking me for making him a birthday cake. A 'Blue Peter kitsch' birthday cake, as Barry called it.
Me and Dominic have decided to become Blue Peter presenters.
The Departiure last night were pretty good, although their set went on a bit long. I arrived at 8 just in time for the last song by the first support band, which was great, kind of Dead 60's-ish.
I'm off to see the Manics tomorrow!
I'm thinking about what I wrote on Dominic's Christmas Card: "Thank you for everything youv'e done for me over the past six months". I hope he remembers. I wish I could tell him more, how important his words have been for me, and how the sense of community and support that I get from them makes me feel. he's helped me alot but I doubt I will ever tell him properly.
I got some really nice Christmas presents from my friends today.
Sorry if this entry doesn't make sense, I am a tad under the influence. I know I said I'd given up, but I haven't, and I don't think I will.
