Fun things that happened before the gig:
- Speaking to Johnny for the first time ever
- Geoff The Super Roadie trying to steal my Northern Soul bag, whilst eating a huge ham sandwich
- Dominic getting my last name wrong, and subsequently addressing me by my full name all evening
- Johnny's favourite cut from Never Mind The Buzzcocks:
Mark Lamarr - "Is that a calulator?"
Dominic - "No, I've just got a better phone than you!"
- Singing sea shanties with Mel and The Pirate Guy. Also Mel's harmonica playing, Laura commenting that I turn everything I say into a show tune, and making up a song about Mel's spider earring that included the line, "Arachnophobiacs beware!"
- Everyone in the dressing room trying my hat on.
- Singing "Danger! High Voltage" in a yorkshire accent: "Fire in t'disco!"
Fun things that happened during the gig (which was the best I've seen them so far)
- Us shouting "RDD! RDD!", and Dominic joining in, with the comment, "The Rum Drinking Division are drinking water tonight!"
- Martin starting a handclap at one point. (Dominic: "Martin's turning us into Bon Jovi..."). Also his "HELLO LADIES!" at the end.
- Laura changing "Almanac" to "Caramac".
- Chanting for Geoff.
My first stage dive was rubbish, as the security guard pushed me back into the audience straight away. I landed on my head, and got my head stood on, but this didn't stop me stage invading again. I did a little dance on stage for a few seconds and probably looked like a bit of a twat, but I did a pretty good stagedive so it was alright.
I went out yesterday with Laura, Sally, Mel, Alan, Dominic, Jodie and a guy called Rich who I hadn't met before who asked me to DJ at this clubnight he's doing. I was going to go the instore at Jumbo and then go straight home but I stayed out from half 4 till about half 10, so I'm sure that's done wonders for my health.
Listening to Tom Waits. I got tickets to see Elvis Costello in February, I'm really excited. Also going to see The Good Life, in a pub in leeds. Hoorah!
