I've just spent 2 and a half hours trying and failing to think of something interesting to do for a party for my 18th birthday. My birthday is over 2 months away, but as I have to book somewhere I have to plan it quite far ahead. Originally I thought it might be a fun/strange idea to have a BARN DANCE but unfortunately barns are not something Wakefield (or Yorkshire, for that matter) is willing to hire out. Bah! I think I'll probably have to settle for hiring a pub out, but I'd still welcome anyone's ideas for an unusual theme...
Stayed up quite late last night and wrote a few songs, some half-baked ideas. I can't seem to get out of the rut of wanting to write like Rufus Wainwright/Tom Waits/Beck at the moment. I have a lot of ideas for songs, but they're manifesting themselves slowly. Kate said she'd drum for me on my new songs, which is great. She seems to be on the same creative wavelength, if that's an actual thing. If it is I feel fucking sorry for her!
I should probably be doing revision for my last two exams at the moment but I'm not. I think I resent them for not allowing me to go to Glastonbury. Hpmhpmphmh.
Sit tight for some more interesting Claire news... it's round the corner, I can feel it!
