I was planning this year on submitting a short film that I have written to some short film prizes. I never thought I'd win or get shortlisted, but I just wanted to enter, to get some experience. I wanted to try the TCM Classic Shorts competition (Rhys fucking Ifans and Alan fucking Rickman judging!) because it's this summer, which would give me time to cast, film and edit. Formats: Entries should be submitted on VHS or DVD. Each film must be submitted on a separate tape. All films must be shot on a professional format suitable for showing on TV and provided together with music cue sheets. Please do not submit the master copy.
Unfortunately my lowly Hi-8 hand held camera doesn't count as a 'professional format'. I think I need to search for some kind of smaller prize first. *closes door and switches lights off*
